The Wind of Sadness

 The Wind of Sadness

   by Lynne Freauf

“It feels like… a darkness…. an evil…. has drifted over our nation. An immense sadness has blown across the earth…., ” she said. Yes, indeed. A wind of sadness.

No list of difficulties is necessary for us to grasp the suffering of this year. We all have suffered in some way, in many ways. The losses are pervasive and deep. The power of discontentment of the heart has touched each of us.

And yet,

If you know God as Father, you are trusting in his Sovereignty.

If you know Jesus as Lord, you are sure of his goodness, all the time, and of his love.

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you know the stirring and leading of your heart to his promises.

As we near Christmas this year, our gatherings and celebrations are going to look vastly different. There may be a wind of sadness in your heart as you long for celebrations past. But God, who is rich in mercy, and keeps his promises, will never leave you nor forsake you. He left the beauty of Heaven, to be born in humility, to seek and save that which was lost. That is our true celebration.

“For unto us a child is born, Unto us a son is given.

And the government will be on his shoulders.

And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”   Isaiah 9:6

Peace to you and your family this Christmas. Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
