Know God’s Word, Know God by Sammi Whitwell

We cannot imitate a God whose features and habits we have never learned. We must make a study of Him if we want to become like Him. We must seek His face.” – Jen Wilkin

“How can I expect to know God if I don’t know His Word?” I’ve asked myself this question many times. I’ve gone through periods of my life where I’ve questioned where God was and wondered why He was so silent in my life, all the while my Bible sat two feet away from me gathering dust.

God gave us His Word for our benefit. It helps us learn His character and hear His voice. His Word directs and guides us. It is relevant and important and life-giving. It’s actually very difficult for me to put into words exactly how imperative studying the Bible was and is to my spiritual growth. My relationship with Jesus wasn’t flourishing until I committed to spend time actively seeking Him, and a huge part of that commitment was spending time studying the Word.

How often have you found yourself in a similar spot? Or maybe you know someone who is there now. So many people want to grow in their faith, and hear from the Lord, but they just don’t know where to start. This is where a well-led Bible study can be truly revolutionary! In September, join us for a One-Day Encounter entirely devoted to equipping women to lead effective Bible studies. Each person on our team knows firsthand the transformative and life-changing power of studying God’s Word, and we are excited for this chance to learn tips and techniques to ignite faith in others.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105 NIV
