Intermission

Intermission

The word “intermission” means to “pause”,  and several synonyms are: recess, respite, hiatus, cessation, interruption, or rest.  These last 12+ months have certainly been all of those words and more for most of us.

A well-known Dallas pastor had this to say about the “intermissions” of life:
* Don’t skip it
* Refresh your mind and body
* Reflect
* Reevaluate
* Spend time with God
In using intermission as the “pause in a play” analogy, he says,
The Curtain Will Rise Again!

No one has been able to skip this last year. However, the other points that were made are worth pondering. How have I seen this last year? Have I slowed down, refreshed myself some, reflected on life, reevaluated what’s truly important? Have I spent more time with God, or in seeking him?

Intermissions will continue to occur in our lives. Whether they are viewed as an interruption or a rest is up to each one of us. Waiting times do not have to be wasted times.

” Heavenly Father, You know the struggles of this past year for us. Help me to see what You are doing in my life during waiting times. I want to make the most of each day. Teach me to refresh, reflect and reevaluate my time. The time I spend with You is my best time spent. Thank you for the gift of your Spirit.
In Jesus’ Name.”
