Life gets hard, am I right?! We can so quickly feel defeated and easily angered because this isn’t what we signed up for. It’s funny though, I have experienced in these moments that when I turn to Jesus and weaken my grip on my problems, He strengthens me with courage. He gives me the courage to walk through what seems like a dry, desolate desert. He gives me the courage to see Him right in front of me instead of looking past Him. He gives me the courage to let Him change my heart. And most importantly, He gives me the courage to let Him love me.
Isaiah 46:8-10 tell us, “Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”
I love how God always reminds and brings us back to the same truth. He does not waver and change His mind or make things confusing. He tells us there is no other, He is the Alpha and Omega, and His purpose will stand. God repeats this truth over and over in the Bible. And because the Bible is the Living Word, His truth is for our lives today.
So, today, let’s release our grip from our insecurities, doubts, and frustrations and pick up His Courage. Don’t forget all that Jesus has already done and keep in mind all He has promised He will do!
Dear Lord,
You’re faithful, kind, and I’m in complete assurance that you care and will keep your promises.
Thank you, Lord, for bending low to meet us – help keep the courage in us to fight the good fight. In Jesus name, Amen.
Below is a video of Kristene Dimarco from Bethel Church singing the song – Take courage. I would encourage you to listen, and whether it’s playing in the background while you are praying or it’s on while you’re doing your make-up, let it soak in and help you stand strong to take courage. Live today with the reminder that you can rise in His Victory.
