Are you a Disciple maker?

Are you a follower of Jesus? If you are, then you are a Disciple Maker. Now the question is, are you investing in others for them to invest in others?

As followers of Jesus, we are to worship Him only, serve others in His name, and point others to Him. Jesus was the most excellent Disciple Maker of all time. Jesus discipled others by mentoring, coaching, and discipling them. And yes, there is a difference between them all. I penned this as “MCD Method.” Clever, right? Mentoring, Coaching, Discipling. It sounds like a lot— but when you are in a mentoring type of relationship, you use a little of each of these methods, or at least you should. Jesus’ method of making disciples is brilliant. He combined having an impactful relationship with intentional training. Jesus did this in a way that transformed the person and, in turn, created disciples, who made other disciples, and so on.

The Bible commands in Matthew 28:19-20; Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.

These scriptures might automatically bring a vision to your mind of you going to Africa, being in the jungle, witnessing natives who have not eaten in days. Rest easy. I am here to help you with that thought.

We are to invest in others and not grow out of our need to be invested in. Jesus wants us to help each other grow to be like Him. “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17.

Here are two questions to ask yourself. Who are you investing in? Who is investing in you? You should be able to answer these questions.

We want to help you be the mentor and disciple maker Jesus has called you to be. Schedule June 7th-9th to be with us at our Encounter Weekend titled— “Mentor, Coach, and Disciple, like Jesus.”
