Praise God From All Whom Blessings Flow

Do you want to know your purpose in life? Spend time Praising God.

Do you want to push back the darkness, or lift depression? Spend time Praising God.

Do you want to get your focus off your storms? Spend time Praising God.

Do you need peace in your life? Spend time Praising God.

You see, praise welcomes the presence of God, and it is impossible to touch the presence of God and there not be change. And praising God reminds us who is on the throne and in control.

Praise is the primary calling for all humans. Look at what Hebrews 13;15 tells us; Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise- the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

This scripture tells us that God doesn’t require us to sacrifice something to cover our sins; Jesus sacrificed Himself for us. And we are to praise Him continually, not only when things are good, but continually praise God for who He is. And the Lord, in His sweetness, says by praising Me, you receive more of my peace, love, strength, revelation, and ability to resist temptation.

Talk about a holy habit to start. Try praising God every day, even in your trials, and watch the transformation of your heart. Need to know what or how to praise? Start with writing down all the things you are thankful for. But also, some Scriptures are written to launch you into praise—for example, Psalm 100, 103, or 145. Something I use now and then is a hymnal. I bought a hymnal for $5.00 at Half Price Books, and the hymns are organized into different subjects, one being “praise hymns.”

It would benefit you greatly to try this “heart-transforming habit.”  Try it for a week, and let the Lord tell you if it pleases Him.

I Praise you, Lord; my inmost being praises Your name. Lord, You redeem me from the pit; You crown me with love and compassion. Thank you, Father, that great is Your faithfulness. You offer new mercies every morning. I am grateful. Lord, I thank you that the battles I face are not mine but Yours, and your word reminds me to set my heart and mind on You. Lord, You are the true Light of the World. There is no darkness so great that Your light cannot penetrate it. Father, thank you for Your guiding light in my life, but Father, help me trust and follow Your light. Father, may praise be on my lips continually, and the light You shine through me be contagious to others. I pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Read 2 Chronicles 20 for the essence of praising Him.
