Prophesy your Promise.

Brian and Katie Torwalt wrote a song titled, “Prophesy your Promise,” and one of the lyrics states;

When I only see in part

I will prophesy Your promise

I believe you, God

‘Cause you finish what you start

I will trust You in the process

I believe You, God

After listening to this song, the question came to mind; Do I believe that God will finish what He started because I’ve only seen a part of the picture, not the full picture? Many instances in my life, I have stepped back and wonder why, why did it happen that way? Why did God choose to do it this way, or allow it to happen that way? That’s also when I go into a full-blown panic mode and choose the “easy” way out. I run to my blindsided ways and if I’m honest, kick God out of the circumstance.

For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” Romans 7:15

Prophesy your Promise, makes me cry tears of relief. Tears stream down my face as I pray to release the tight grip I have on my circumstances. I must FREQUENTLY release to God and pray for open hands. As the lyrics repeat, “I will trust You in the process.”

It is freeing to know we can rest in His Promises. His Promises are many.

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek”. Hebrews 6:18-20

Promise, Unchangeable, Oath, Impossible, Sure, Steadfast, Hope, Forerunner; these words set the picture of Gods intentions. God’s promise of a Savior, which He fulfilled, has made way for us. We can believe and trust in His promises.

“Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior; they lie down, they cannot rise, they are extinguished, quenched like a wick: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:16-19

His promises are trustworthy. My challenge to you is to prophesy His promise over your life. God desires to give you a new way in your wilderness. He can be trusted! He has proven it! If you do not know His promises, know that they’re waiting for you in His Word, and He desires to give you something new.

Prayer

Lord,

Thank you for this day, we praise you for your promises for they are True and Holy. Thank you for freely giving us Jesus and making way for us to be in communion with You. Lord, forgive us for not resting and trusting in Your promises. Bring our wandering hearts back to You and Your living Word. We love you, Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.
