Game Changer

GameChanger

What is a “game-changer’’? This term is typically used when speaking of something or someone who has made a significant difference in your life.

For example:

Cell Phones—They have truly been a “game-changer” in how we live our daily lives.

Amazon—Extreme “game-changer” in our life, especially in 2020.

Having a Mentor—”game-changing” life impact!

Chick-fil-A—They have changed our lives simply in the fact of teaching us to do without chicken nuggets every day of the week.

Spanx—See same reason as Chick-fil-A.

However, the most perfect ultimate “game-changer” that has ever been and ever will be, is who we are celebrating and preparing our hearts for this month, Jesus. As we read in the book of Luke, chapter 1, the events leading up to the birth of Jesus, we come across Elizabeth encouraging Mary and then Mary, the newly informed Mother to be of Jesus, sings a song of what God was going to do for the world through her.

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.” Luke 1:46

Notice this scripture is a follow-up from what was said before this verse.  Let’s look at verse 45.

Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished.

What we have here are two exciting game-changers.  The first is Mary could face her circumstances knowing she was blessed by God. Mary believed! We as Christians can rejoice in our circumstances because God chose us, like Mary.  We are to believe in God’s plan, His ways. He is Sovereign over all, and we have been blessed.  And in verse 46; gratitude with humility! Aka, “game-changer”

Mary believed and accepted her calling. That’s humility. Accept your God-given gifts and use them for His glory. We were created to need others and then gifted by the Holy Spirit to meet others’ needs.

Be a “game-changer” to someone. Praise God for the gifts He has given you, believe that what the Lord has said to you will be accomplished, and let your life song sing to Him!
