For Such a Time as This!

A Jewish girl accepted her circumstance and was used to save her people from a plot to destroy them. This young Jewish girl, Queen Esther, didn’t create her situation. But God did prepare her “for such a time as this.” And God isn’t mentioned in the book of Esther at all. But He didn’t have to be because His activity is unmistakable throughout the book. What we see in this story is what I would call “Divine Providence.”

God works providentially to take care of His people. Like Esther, we are to have courage and patience, and not to push providence!

I will let you read the story for yourself, but what I want us all to walk away with is for us to trust God has prepared us and is working out His perfect plan in His perfect time. We, the people, must choose

Faith over fear,

God’s providence over pressure,

His peace over anxiety.

As a reminder, remember God led the Israelites through the desert, not just “to” or “around.” He provided for their daily needs, and just like them, He takes care of us.

Lord, even though sometimes we cannot see your hand in our situation, we are trusting your Heart. We are asking you to redeem the challenges of our today’s and tomorrow’s. Father God, help us remember your great faithfulness and that there is no way you are leaving us now, not after Calvery. Thank you, Lord. God, we stand with our hearts and thoughts set on you, and our hands open to receive your strength, direction, and peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4

You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit. Job 10:12

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2
