Obstacles

What builds strength? To strengthen muscles, you break down the tissue first by creating stress on it that is different than the previous threshold that muscle had already adapted to. Strengthening your mind is just as important if not more.  Mental toughness is regarded as the most crucial factor in sports to achieve the goals and perform with excellence.

In several of Paul’s Letters, he tells us to strengthen ourselves in God’s Word so we can run the race set before us. We will persevere, and not give up for there are great rewards in Heaven.  However, strengthening of “anything” takes effort, time, and always involves obstacles! The obstacles are what get us stuck. More than that, it is the obstacles that will make us stop and give up altogether.

Friends, every obstacle has a limited life span.

Obstacles are just obstacles. Profound, right? What I mean is obstacles don’t block the path, they are the path.  Embrace them and let them take you higher, make you stronger in your faith, increasing your trust in God. Obstacles are strengtheners. No one wants to encounter them, yet, they are what we need to finish the race, and finish well.

Don’t let your first obstacle be running the wrong race.  Hopefully, you are not sitting at an airport waiting for your ship to come in.

Prioritize your time, because directions from God is impossible to follow without His involvement.  Run the race marked out for you, fixing your eyes on Jesus!!

Father God, we so want to live the way You intended us to live.  Help us to throw off everything that hinders us and so easily entangles us.  Grant us a thirst for Your Word, and to persevere through the obstacles of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Hebrews 12:3 AMP

Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
