Love and Laughter

Love and Laughter

Many of you were very excited about February 14th, while others despise the concept of Valentine’s Day.

Personally, I am not sure about some of these invented holidays, but I rested on this day of  “celebration of love,”  knowing God is the God of love.  The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:19, “We love Him because He first loved us.”  I know there are times when we find ourselves questioning God’s love, but it is typically because we want Him to love us in a specific manner, but He loves us perfectly and completely. God will love us through our circumstances if we let Him, but too often, we don’t.  We take control, yet once again. And that is never a good idea!

My Bible Study class is putting the power of praising God into practice. When we spend time praising the God of love, the more His love is released into our hearts and through our lives. And, I’m not sure about you, but I could do a better job of loving others and myself. When we praise Him, we welcome His presence. And you can’t help but be transformed when you have been in the presence of the Lord. Try it, it’s free!

And because I love each of you, I am sharing a few funnies about love to make you smile this week.

Knock, knock. Who’s there? Eyesore. Eyesore, who? Eyesore do love you a lot.

Did you hear about the porcupine who was near-sighted? He fell in love with a pincushion.

Are you from Starbucks? Because I like you a latte.

-Do you like vegetables because I love you from my head tomatoes.

– I know this is going to sound cheesy, but I think you’re the gratest.

– I met my boyfriend on Twitter.  We’re Tweet hearts.

We thank you, Lord, for loving us first. We praise you that you are the God of love. Lord, one way you show your love for us is by bringing laughter to our souls. We are grateful. Father, will you give us a thirst and deep desire to always praise you? We know our hearts will be transformed when we put you in your rightful place, and praising you is the solution. May praise be on our lips at all times. I pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
