Journey Junkie

Hi, my name is Tanya Magnus, and I am a recovering Journey Junkie.

Journey Junkies aspire to be Destination Divas. And true to form, Destination Diva’s desire to be Journey Junkies.

Let me explain. After many years of coaching and equipping women to discover and flourish in their God-given gifts, what I see with almost every woman, no matter the age, is their longing for significance. But it is the actual search/journey that seems to be the issue. You see the journey, although frustrating, is also exciting enough to feel like you are moving forward, towards “something more.”

So, really the question then is, is it fear of success that keeps us on a journey? Or is it the lack of awareness of our success on our current journey? Think about that for a minute.

We keep looking ahead, planning what’s next, and totally missing memorable moments happening now. Our purpose is not a destination but in constant motion!

Look what Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15, … to give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

What is the work of the Lord? The work of the Lord is what is right in front of you. The opportunities presented to you to do good. We, as Christians, are to be fully committed in Word and Deed in the season of life we are in at the time. That is our calling! Different seasons call for different commitments.

You may be in a season of raising future World Changers. Perhaps you are growing in your own opportunity to change lives. And maybe your journey of experience and wisdom is the catalyst for others to have the courage and to run their race with perseverance. Every day is a journey and full of opportunities to stand firm in the faith, to encourage someone, to glorify God in all we do. Even when we do laundry, we can be thanking the Lord for our clothes and capabilities to wash them.

Let your daily journeys be purposeful and honoring to the Lord.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31
