There was Another in the Fire….

The popular Christian song, ” Another in the Fire”, has such meaningful lyrics.
                                     “There was another in the fire
                                      Standing next to me
                                      There was another in the waters
                                      Holding back the seas”

When you hear those words, do your thoughts go to “Yes! I’m in a fire right now!”, or
Yes! Lord you are always with me in every trial!”
                                   “And if I ever need reminding
                                     Of how I’ve been set free
                                    There is a cross that bears the burden
                                    Where another died for me.”

In times of trials, we all need reminding of what Jesus has done, the burden He has taken for us. He has come to set us free.

” I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you WILL have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Note that Jesus assets honestly that we will have trouble. Do you live in the truth that he has overcome the world? As a Christ follower, do you “throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life? Instead let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”  Eph. 4:22-23 NLT.

We have been filled with the Holy Spirit, and his power can change how we live. He can lead us in his power every day. That is the role of the Holy Spirit, to set you free from fear, and give you peace. Peace even in the fire.
He’s just waiting for your prayer, inviting his power to change you.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit”, says the Lord Almighty.  Zechariah 4:6
