A New Year Revival

NEW YEAR REVIVAL

Tonight, we close out, not just another year, but we close out an entire decade. A decade I hope for you was laced with joy, healing, and peace among all the worldly weariness this side of Heaven brings us. With a New Year, there is a sense of hope it brings for things to be different, and traditionally we tend to set ourselves up for the new year with resolutions that will set us up for success. For this year, though, I propose that instead of desiring resolutions for us, I say we desire a revival within us.

I love The Message version of this passage of scripture in Colossians 3:1-2, which says, “So, if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ- that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.”

The time is now! It is time for you to charge forward, alert, and look nowhere but UP for direction. Make this New Year your time of revival. No more silence. No more shuffling along. Arise, awaken your dry bones and look UP! Don’t let another year be wished away on things perishable and meaningless in the overall picture of eternity. Your time is now!

Think about what you will do and how you will approach 2020 in a way that is significantly different than years past?

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!” Ezekiel 37:6 NLT
