A Chosen Instrument

This weekend, I will be teaching how to read the Bible and why.  I would go as far as to say that 80 percent of those attending church, do not know how to really read the Bible.   Don’t get me wrong, we listen to sermons, we go to Bible studies, and we have daily devotions, but typically that is learning about God from others. And being a Bible teacher, I love teaching others about God.  But we are to be able to “feed” ourselves on the Word of God. And just so you know, almost all the familiar Bible stories, culture has got them wrong. Starting with the fruit Eve ate in the garden, the story of David and Goliath, and our beloved nativity scene. But we believe what we are told or what we see. Yet, the truth is right in front of us, given to us, and the truth will set you free!

My experience has been too that many Christians cannot tell you what they believe or why they believe it.  Only because they have been told by others who God is.  The Bible is the chosen instrument to reveal God’s true character.  As well as His purpose for us.  In our “Live with Purpose” training, I tell the students if they don’t have time to spend reading God’s Word, then they don’t have time to discover their purpose.  Because it is in His Word your purpose is discovered.

Second Timothy 3:16 tell us, “All Scriptures is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”  The Bible originated in God’s mind, not in human minds.

Many say they can’t read the Bible because it is either hard to understand, boring, or don’t have time, or why even read it?  I could list the benefits of reading His Word every day, but not sure that would move anyone to action. But let me say this: “There is nothing in this world that will make you feel significant, and whole, give you hope, comfort, encouragement and feel unconditionally loved, like the living Word of God.”

Personally, when I changed my priorities and started spending time with God Himself, He changed me. You can’t help but be changed when you are in the Presence of the Lord.  And the Bible is His direct Word to us.

Learn to love the Word.  Knowing the Word of God is more precious than gold, a lamp for your feet, and a joy and delight in your heart.

We would love to come to your church, or your group, and equip and empower your women on how to read the Bible. Contact us www.choosetosoar.com
